Cryomate-2:
Highly versatile, nickel-base electrode suitable for a wide range of applications
- Cryogenic vessels & pipework of 3-9% Ni steels for temperatures down to -196°C.
- Elevated temperature services in furnace equipment & petrochemical plants involving temperatures upto 1000°C Joining & surfacing in fabrication.
- Repair & maintenance welding.
- Base materials: Inconel 600, Incoloy 800, Incoloy DS & other nickel-base alloys.
- Dissimilar combinations of several nickel-base alloys (Monel 400, Incoloy 825) to stainless steels, low alloy steels, C-Mn steels, offering advantage of avoiding need for preheat.
- Weld metal is characterized by stable properties over a wide range of temperatures from - 269°C to 900°C.
- Presence of Mo contributes to improved elevated temperature properties above 600°C.
- Addition of Cb along with Mo, confers:resistance to hot cracking; tolerance to dilution in many combinations of nickel- base aloys & steels.
